Westpoint Workshops..... What alot we've got planned for you!!

If you would like to take part  in one of the many Workshops running over the course of the show, you can book online by selecting the booking link (where offered).   Or just tu up on the day and book.   If you are having problems booking online or need some advice on the classes, please email workshops@craft4crafters.co.uk with the details of the workshop you would like to attend. Remember to include your name, as well as the title, date and time of the workshop. Any payments should be paid on arrival to the workshop tutor.

If you don't know what day you are attending the show, you can book when you arrive by visiting the workshop registration desk located just inside the doors. Spaces on some workshops are limited so we advise that you book as soon as you arrive, to avoid disappointment.

Needle Felt Mini Scape

 Suitable for beginners. Joan will teach you how to make this mini seascape so that you learn the techniques necessary to be able to go on and create your own pictures after the workshop. You get to keep what you make, all materials and use of tools are included and you get to have a fun time too!

Suitable for adults and supervised children over 9yrs old.

Needle Felt 3D Toadstool

A little previous needle felting experience is recommended. Make and take away your own needle felted toadstool in 3D. Joan will teach you how to start working in three dimensions to create a toadstool.  All materials and use of tools are included.

Heat Bonded Textiles with Ailish Henderson

 Join textile artist, Ailish Henderson to learn a new skill to incorporate into your quilting projects.  Play with bondaweb, plastics and other materials, merged with heat distressing methods, to create new fabrics and embellishments.  This technique can be experimented with, to even create a “scene” within your fabric piece.  This could be incorporated into cut away applique or applique and shadow quilting. All materials will be provided, but please feel free to bring any specific ideas along.

Children's Morning Workshop with the West Country Embroiderers

The West Country Embroiderers will be hosting workshops for children aged 8 - 12 years with an adult accompanying them. These will be free and all necessary requirements will be provided for each child.

The morning session from 10.30am to 12.30am is 'Flights of Fancy' and involves making birds. 

No need to book, but the project will need about an hour to complete so make sure you get there early!

Itsy Bitsy Felt Brooch with Ailish Henderson

 This project is ideal for those of you who are either old hands at making felt and wonder what to do with all those bits you haven’t used.  It is equally great for newbies, who would like to experiment with a new technique!

Within this workshop, learn how to use hand dyed felted pieces to create an individual brooch.  You will stitch your chosen pieces together, before adding a brooch catch and even a few beads to decorate!  You will leave with your very own wearable piece of art.

 Have an exciting hour learning how to trap plastics and other materials inside layers of bondaweb.  You will then iron to melt all your pieces together and create a flat piece of new "fabric".  What to do with your new “magpie-esque” fabric? Instructions will be given out, so that you can cut out floral shapes from a template and hand sew a flower brooch....wear with pride! You will be guided through using a Heat Gun too adding to your skills as you create.  Decorate with beads too if you like! All ages and abilities welcome; all materials provided.

Wet Felted Container

Discover the magic of wet felting.  Make a small container, either rectangular or round by the resist felting method. Lay out wool fibres and see them blend together to produce a felt fabric.  Add a small motif to personalise your item.

Learn the basic technique which you can then try at home with basic household equipment.
