Westpoint Workshops..... What alot we've got planned for you!!

If you would like to take part  in one of the many Workshops running over the course of the show, you can book online by selecting the booking link (where offered).   Or just tu up on the day and book.   If you are having problems booking online or need some advice on the classes, please email workshops@craft4crafters.co.uk with the details of the workshop you would like to attend. Remember to include your name, as well as the title, date and time of the workshop. Any payments should be paid on arrival to the workshop tutor.

If you don't know what day you are attending the show, you can book when you arrive by visiting the workshop registration desk located just inside the doors. Spaces on some workshops are limited so we advise that you book as soon as you arrive, to avoid disappointment.

Thursday 15th & Friday 16th

Wet Felted Container

Workshop Room 3 - Bicton College

Discover the magic of wet felting.  Make a small container, either rectangular or round by the resist felting method. Lay out wool fibres and see them blend together to produce a felt fabric.  Add a small motif to personalise your item.

Learn the basic technique which you can then try at home with basic household equipment.

Times: 

Thursday: 1.30-2pm, 2.15-2.45pm, 3-3.30pm

Friday: 2.45-3.15pm, 3.30-4pm

Profile: Alison Young BA (Hons) Fashion and Textiles. I have a background in fashion, textiles and craft over many years.   I have taught art, design and technology,  and printing in primary school.

Heart Workshop

In this workshop you will learn to make and decorate a felt heart. You will need to be able to sew a simple stitch for this.

Itsy Bitsy Felt Brooch with Ailish Henderson

Stand 110 - Workbox

£8 per person 

 This project is ideal for those of you who are either old hands at making felt and wonder what to do with all those bits you haven’t used.  It is equally great for newbies, who would like to experiment with a new technique!

Within this workshop, learn how to use hand dyed felted pieces to create an individual brooch.  You will stitch your chosen pieces together, before adding a brooch catch and even a few beads to decorate!  You will leave with your very own wearable piece of art.

It is advised to book in advance as this class fills up quickly and space is limited to only 4 slots per workshop - To book into this class please email Ailish at flounderingfish@googlemail.com. Please make sure you include your name, the day you want to attend the class, the title of the class and how many in your party. Ailish will email you to confirm you have successfully booked into the class.

Stitched Embellishment for Felt - Bicton college

Workshop Room 3 - Bicton College

Learn some creative embroidery stitches to be used decoratively on felt.  Create a mini beach scene on a piece of handmade felt using a variety of threads and yarns and an embellishment of beads, sequins and shells.   All materials supplied.

Friday: 10.30-11.30 & 11.45-12.45

Saturday: 10.30-11.30 & 1.30-2.30

Profile: Joanna Pout has been teaching in Arts and Crafts for many years and enjoys passing her knowledge on to enthusiastic students!  She likes to work in fibre and thread while incorporating her art skills into drawing, colour and design.  She holds City and Guilds certificates in a a variety of embroidery and textile disciplines and in teaching.
