Contribute to the Mayflower 400 Project

We are working towards achieving 6000, yes – now 6000! rectangular pennants (NOT triangular)
The finished size should be A4(210mm x 297mm) or (8.3in x 11.7in)
Made of fabric : sewn, appliqued and COLOUR-FAST, as they'll be hung outside for several weeks painted (but make sure this is waterproof – it rains in the Devon)
Predominately red, white or blue or any combination of these colours
They can be plain or patterned - nautical, stripes, floral, anything you like
There is no need to have an image on both sides
Ideally backed for robustness (unless the fabric is substantial)
The pennants will be machine onto sturdy strapping by others, so no need to provide a hanging method
Why not include an element inspired by the Mayflower Pilgrims or check out the Websites and Social media for ideas?

Get involved with helping Devon County Show create 32,000 flags to beat the world record for the longest ever knitted bunting!
Come by the Devon County Show stand at Craft4Crafters to talk to one of our team to find out how, have a go at knitting a couple of rows yourself and take part in our challenge to find the person who can knit a 31 stitch flag in the quickest time. The completed bunting will be displayed in the Crafts & Gardens tent at Devon County Show 2020 in May and will be auctioned off to raise funds for the Farming Charity, The Addington Fund.

Learn The Gentle Art of Needle Tatted Lace

In this two hour workshop you will learn how to make needle tatted lace by constructing a simple lace edging for a tissue holder. In the workshop you will learn the double stitch, picot, how to make a ring and a chain and how to read a pattern. You will acquire the skills you need to continue to make your own tatted lace. All the equipment for the workshop will be provided. This is quite suitable for complete beginners with no previous knowledge of the craft.
There are only 6 places available at each session so it’s best to book your place in advance on our website.
