Westpoint Workshops 2019... What a lot we've got planned for you!

If you would like to take part in one of the many Workshops running over the course of the show, you can book online by selecting the booking link (where offered).   Or just turn up on the day and book.   If you are having problems booking online or need some advice on the classes, please email workshops@craft4crafters.co.uk with the details of the workshop you would like to attend. Remember to include your name, as well as the title, date and time of the workshop. Any payments should be paid on arrival to the workshop tutor.

If you don't know what day you are attending the show, you can book when you arrive by visiting the workshop registration desk located just inside the doors. Spaces on some workshops are limited so we advise that you book as soon as you arrive, to avoid disappointment.

Workshops

Mini Marbling Tile Workshop

Times: 10:30am-11:00am and 2:00pm-3:00pm everyday

Location: Stand 22 (Marbling4Fun)

Cost to attend: £5

Craig Joubert teaches you 13 century marbling techniques in the workshop. Craig will be demonstrating Marbling onto tiles, buttons, fabric and paper. A limited stock of his designer water based marbling kits and accessories sold on stand. This workshop lasts 5- 10 mins is for all ages and abilities.

Fusing Fabric

Times: 10:30am-11:30am and 2:15pm-3:15pm everyday

Location: Stand 94 (Margaret Beal)

Cost to attend: £8 

In this workshop you will discover how the fine tipped soldering iron has become one of the most creative tools available to textile artist, embroiderers' and crafts people today. This workshop is for all ages and abilities.

Transfer painting

Times: 40-60 mins at 10:30am, 12:30pm, 2:00pm -Thursday & Friday, 11:00am, 12:30pm - Saturday

Location: Stand 135 (Mary Gamester)

Cost to attend: £5 

Come and enjoy colouring in a picture with these magical transfer paints, when dry it will be heat transferred on to fabric. You will have time to stitch, embellish a lovely piece of art to make up into a card and take home to finish (card, envelope and wadding included). This workshop is for all ages and abilities.

Rag Rug

Times: Running throughout the day, drop in

Location: Stand 61 (Rag Rug Textiles)

Cost to attend: £3.50

Make a sari silk corsage or animal such as a ladybird. learn a new craft and complete an item you can wear at the show. This workshop lasts 10-20 mins and is for all ages and abilities.

Relax with Decopatch

Times: on the hour from 10:30am 'til 2:30pm each day

Location: Stand 23 (Studio Partnership)

Cost to attend: £2.50-£3.50 

A nice easy craft, good for all ages and crafting levels. Nigel will be showing how to Decopatch and how to get the best results , this will use genuine Decopatch papers glue and other mediums on a range of different objects.

Glittering on Acetate

Times: Running throughout the day, drop in

Location: Stand 16 ( Arts & Crafts Glitter Greetings)

Cost to attend: £2

If you love crafting , relax and enjoy how easy it is to glitter onto acetates , also great fun for children as well as adults . The finish product can use as decorate on boxes , card making , Mdf , glass etc . Our designer acetates can be used with other mediums , glass paints and permanent makers .  This workshop is for all ages and abilities.

Make Beautiful Earrings Using Silver Clay

Times: part 1- 10:30am-11:30am, part 2- 1:30pm-2:30pm everyday

Location: Stand 130 (West Country Creative)

Cost to attend: £18

This is a great opportunity to learn the basics of working with silver clay and leave with a pair of finished earrings. This is a two part workshop for all abilities, age 16 and up. You will need to be available for both sessions to complete the earrings.

Learn to Block Print

Times: On the hour, everyday

Location: Stand 78 (Arty Crafty Place)

Cost to attend: £5

We will teach you how to block print and you will print a sample and then print your own tea towel or tote bag. Learn a new craft, take home a fabulous tea towel or tote bag and have all the skills to continue block printing at home. This workshop is for all ages and abilities.

Learn the Art of Needle Tatting Lace

Times: 10:30am-12:00pm and 1:30pm-3:00pm

Location: Stand 128 (Tatting and Design)

Cost to attend: £10 

This workshop is an introduction to the beautiful art of tatting with a needle to produce a pretty lace motif that can be used on a card or gift tag. You will learn the basic stitch , how to read a pattern, how to make rings and chains and picots how to join the motif. It's an amazing opportunity to learn a new skill opening up a huge range of lace possibilities. This workshop is for all ages and abilities.

Needle Felt Geode Workshop

Times: 10.30am-11.15am everyday

Location: Workshop room 2 (The Makerss)

Cost to attend: £7.50 

Come and join Sophie from The Makerss at the Craft4Crafters Show to make a needle felted geode using colourful wool batts, sparkly fibres and shaping techniques. These Geodes are so fun to make, and its such a surprise when you open them at the end! Ideal for beginners and those who have needle felted before, includes materials, handout, felting needle & foam mat to take away. Age 10+, children must be accompanied by an adult.

Make a Pizza Box

Times: Every 45 mins, starting at 10:30am everyday

Location: Stand 3 (A Crafty Place)

Cost to attend: £2 which will be donated to Great Ormond Street for craft supplies. 

Use 15 x 42cm card  to make a pizza box. A layer of aqua blue satin card on top of the lid then decorate using the Britannia Dies Party Glass. This workshop is for all ages and abilities.

Drop Spindle Spinning

Times: 10:15am-10:45am and 3:00pm-3:30pm everyday

Location: Stand 89 (Bicton College)

 A taster session using a drop spindle to spin sheep fleece that would be carded from washed Jacob fleece. This workshop is for all ages and abilities.
