Westpoint Workshops 2019... What a lot we've got planned for you!

If you would like to take part in one of the many Workshops running over the course of the show, you can book online by selecting the booking link (where offered).   Or just turn up on the day and book.   If you are having problems booking online or need some advice on the classes, please email workshops@craft4crafters.co.uk with the details of the workshop you would like to attend. Remember to include your name, as well as the title, date and time of the workshop. Any payments should be paid on arrival to the workshop tutor.

If you don't know what day you are attending the show, you can book when you arrive by visiting the workshop registration desk located just inside the doors. Spaces on some workshops are limited so we advise that you book as soon as you arrive, to avoid disappointment.

Workshops

Potato & Stencil Printing

Times: 2:15pm-3:00pm everyday

Location: Workshop room (Felt by Fi)

Cost to attend: £8

Join Fi, from FELTbyFI, for an inspiring and creative 'make & take'. Take your schooldays POTATO PRINTING to another level and try out stencil printing too!

Mini Marbling Tile Workshop

Times: 10:30am-11:00am and 2:00pm-3:00pm everyday

Location: Stand 22 (Marbling4Fun)

Cost to attend: £5

Craig Joubert teaches you 13 century marbling techniques in the workshop. Craig will be demonstrating Marbling onto tiles, buttons, fabric and paper. A limited stock of his designer water based marbling kits and accessories sold on stand. This workshop lasts 5- 10 mins.

Fusing Fabric

Times: 10:30am-11:30am and 2:15pm-3:15pm everyday

Location: Stand 94 (Margaret Beal)

Cost to attend: £8 

In this workshop you will discover how the fine tipped soldering iron has become one of the most creative tools available to textile artist, embroiderers' and crafts people today.

Transfer painting

Times: 40-60 mins at 10:30am, 12:30pm, 2:00pm -Thursday & Friday, 11:00am, 12:30pm - Saturday

Location: Stand 135 (Mary Gamester)

Cost to attend: £5 

Come and enjoy colouring in a picture with these magical transfer paints, when dry it will be heat transferred on to fabric. You will have time to stitch, embellish a lovely piece of art to make up into a card and take home to finish (card, envelope and wadding included).

Rag Rug

Times: Running throughout the day, drop in

Location: Stand 61 (Rag Rug Textiles)

Cost to attend: £3.50

Make a sari silk corsage or animal such as a ladybird. learn a new craft and complete an item you can wear at the show. This workshop lasts 10-20 mins.

Laminated Make-up Bag

Times: 11:30am- 12:30pm, 1:00pm-2:00pm & 2:30pm-3:30pm Thursday & Friday

Location: Stand 145 (Sewing Sanctuary)

Cost to attend: £15 

Join Sarah to create your own Laminated Make-up Bag.

Relax with Decopatch

Times: on the hour from 10:30am 'til 2:30pm each day

Location: Stand 23 (Studio Partnership)

Cost to attend: £2.50-£3.50 

A nice easy craft, good for all ages and crafting levels. Nigel will be showing how to Decopatch and how to get the best results , this will use genuine Decopatch papers glue and other mediums on a range of different objects.

Contempory Needle Felted Artwork

Times: 11:45am-12:30pm and 2:45pm-3:30pm everyday

Location: Stand 89 (Bicton College)

Cost to attend: £8

Contempory Needle Felted artwork using Prefelts and Silk creating your own individual design. This workshop is for adults of all abilities.

Glittering on Acetate

Times: Running throughout the day, drop in

Location: Stand 16 ( Arts & Crafts Glitter Greetings)

Cost to attend: £2

If you love crafting , relax and enjoy how easy it is to glitter onto acetates , also great fun for children as well as adults . The finish product can use as decorate on boxes , card making , Mdf , glass etc . Our designer acetates can be used with other mediums , glass paints and permanent makers .

Learn to Block Print

Times: On the hour, everyday

Location: Stand 78 (Arty Crafty Place)

Cost to attend: £5

Join us for a workshop to block print a tea towel or tote bag. You will practise first on sample fabric and after instruction on using these hand carved wooden printing blocks you will work on your tea towel or tote bag using our fabric paint. You will leave with a fabulous creation and the skills required to continue block printing at home.

Tree Landscape

Times: 2:30pm-3:30pm Thursday & Friday

Location: Stand 87 (Joan Prowse)

Cost to attend: £6.50 

In this workshop, run by the talented Joan Prowse, you will create a lovely felt Landscape picture.

Needle Felt Heart Brooches Make & Take

Times: 11.45am-1.00pm & 2.45-3.30pm everyday (drop in between these times)

Location: Workshop room 2 (The Makerss)

Cost to attend: £2

Celebrate Valentines and share the love with a beautiful heart brooch! Learn 2d needle felting techniques and create your own design! This workshop is for all abilities. Age 10+, children must be accompanied by an adult.

Make a Pizza Box

Times: Every 45 mins, starting at 10:30am everyday

Location: Stand 3 (A Crafty Place)

Cost to attend: £2 which will be donated to Great Ormond Street for craft supplies. 

Use 15 x 42cm card  to make a pizza box. A layer of aqua blue satin card on top of the lid then decorate using the Britannia Dies Party Glass.

Nuno Feltmaking

Times: 11:00am-11:30am and 2:00pm-2:30pm everyday

Location: Stand 89 (Bicton College)

Cost to attend: £6 

Create a sumptuous nuno piece (approximately A3 in size) using finest merino, embellished with lustrous pearled Leicester Longwool and Silk fibres. "Tailor-made" for lampshade or vessel cover, and/or further embroidery.

Make a Ladder Weave Bracelet

Times: Throughout the day, lasts 30 mins

Location: Stand 15 (The Bead Selection)

Cost to attend: £5

Join Meg to make a ladder weave Bracelet in a selection of colour choices. You leave with learning a new technique and a beautiful piece of jewellery.

Getting Creative with Glass

Times: 2:30pm

Workshop Room 1 - Glass Garden Studio

We are a family-oriented business and work as a team to make learning, working and creating with glass an enjoyable experience for everyone - no matter what level of experience. We have tried to make the craft of Stained Glass accessible to everyone and the great thing about our Stained Glass Copper Foiling Workshop is that you don’t need any experience in working with Glass and its fun!!

Make a beautiful project from our GLASS GARDEN STUDIO designs using the pre-cut glass and achieve a great result – you choose what you make and we guide you at every step.

Rose of Shannon Shadow Applique Panel
