Slow Stitching Memories
Slow stitching, sometimes called mindful stitching, is a gentle and relaxing way to sew. Rather than worrying about perfection, the focus is on enjoying the process, choosing fabrics and threads that appeal to you and allowing your piece to develop naturally as you stitch.

What You'll Create
Stitch a little memory of your own
Using small pieces of cotton fabric, embroidery threads and a variety of simple stitches, you'll begin creating a textile piece that can develop entirely in your own way.
You might choose to stitch flowers, birds, shapes or something that reminds you of a favourite place, person or moment.
- Choose from different cotton fabric scraps
- Experiment with embroidery threads and colour
- Use simple hand stitches to build your design
- Create flowers, birds, patterns or personal memories
- Allow your piece to develop naturally as you work
Mindful Making
Let the stitches become part of the story
There is no set pattern that everyone has to follow. Instead, you'll work with small sections of fabric, gradually combining colour, texture and stitch to create something individual to you.
The stitches themselves become part of the memory — little marks made by hand that build into a completely unique textile piece.
There is no need to rush and no need for perfection. Choose your fabrics, enjoy the stitching and simply see where your piece takes you.
It's a lovely workshop for both beginners and experienced stitchers looking for a slower, more relaxed way to create.
