Pressed Flower Lantern Workshops

Transform simple glass jars into magical lanterns using beautiful pressed flowers and leaves. In this workshop, you’ll be guided step-by-step to create your own unique lantern, perfect for adorning a festive table or giving as a heartfelt gift. All materials are provided, including a glass jar, ribbons and ties, brushes, glue, and access to a treasure trove of pressed flowers and foliage in every shape and colour. No experience needed—just bring your creativity!

Andrea Oakwood is a field ecologist and botanical artist living in Somerset. Her compositions are made from pressed plant materials she collects, sometimes adding hand-painted details. Her works aren't realistic depictions of nature, but an attempt to share and celebrate the beautiful biodiversity she's observed as an ecologist, whilst simultaneously processing her grief for the loss of it.
