Meet the Maker: Hayley from Fabric Chicks

Founded by the passionate and creative Hayley, Fabric Chicks is born from a real love of fabric and making. Hayley’s crafting journey began with a gentle nudge from her mum to visit the Festival of Quilts, and from that moment the spark was lit. Since then she’s taught herself to crochet, delved into needle felting, completed a home furnishing and dress-making course, and embraced the ups and downs of quilting projects with enthusiasm.

In 2019 she took a bold step, leaving her 9-to-5 and launching Fabric Chicks from the back of her parents’ house in Thornton near Blackpool. Fast forward to July 2023 and Hayley opened her physical shop in Scarborough, as well as also being able to browse and buy online via the website, Facebook or in person.

Fabric Chicks offers a fantastic selection of quality fabrics and haberdashery items — from top quilting cottons to threads, kits and patterns. Brands include the likes of Liberty, Fiskars, Michael Miller, Riley Blake and Henry Glass and they’re all offered at prices that make your heart sing.
