Meet Andrea Oakwood (Wild Impressions)

Botanical artist and ecologist Andrea Oakwood blends real field knowledge with a deep love of wild places. With an MSc in Conservation Biology (UCL), Andrea creates beautifully observed, nature-inspired work from her home studio—inviting you to slow down, look closer and reconnect with the natural world.

Andrea will be at the show throughout the event, on hand to offer advice, answer questions and share ideas, helping visitors feel inspired and confident to explore nature-led creativity.

She’ll also be running workshops daily, and they’re a real treat. In this relaxed, guided session, you’ll create a vibrant botanical artwork inspired by spring pollinators such as bees and butterflies. Using carefully prepared pressed petals and plant fragments, Andrea will show you simple composition techniques and how to build up a layered picture while working confidently with natural materials.

You’ll choose from two templates (bee or butterfly) and be supported step-by-step, making the workshop ideal for beginners—while still enjoyable for more experienced makers looking for a mindful, nature-inspired project.
