From Shearing to Finished Felt: Janna Turner, Flock2Felt
Janna Turner is a Somerset-based fibre artist and felter behind the family-run Flock2Felt (also known as Flock2Felts). Janna is known for her deep, hands-on knowledge of feltmaking and fibre preparation, managing the entire process from start to finish—beginning with local sheep and fleece, through shearing and fibre prep, to beautifully tactile, wet-felted finished pieces.
Her work is celebrated for its strong surface detail, texture and form, particularly her skill in creating expressive 3D felted structures. Alongside her own practice, Janna is an experienced teacher and demonstrator, running relaxed, welcoming classes where she shares practical techniques, confidence-building tips and a genuine love of working with natural fibres.
Janna’s large-scale credentials include acting as project lead and felting advisor for the ambitious Alice in Wonderwool felt installation, as well as her striking Flocks to Flight piece—projects that showcase both her creative vision and technical expertise.
Visitors are encouraged to seek out Janna at the show to see fibre transformed at every stage, learn from a true expert in wet felting and fibre preparation, and gain inspiration from someone deeply connected to materials, process and craft heritage.
