Behind Molly Brown’s Emporium is Molly, a textile artist, maker and tutor with more than 40 years of experience working with fabric and stitch. Her work ranges from quilting and free-motion embroidery to knitting and textile art, with a strong interest in thoughtful, sustainable making and the use of renewable, recyclable and fairly traded materials wherever possible. Alongside creating her own work, she has a real passion for teaching and sharing techniques in a relaxed, accessible way.

A particular highlight is her award-winning Woodland Glade quilt. It is a wonderful example of how traditional quilting skills can be developed into a piece of textile art, bringing together technique, creativity and an enormous amount of patient craftsmanship. It’s the kind of work that deserves to be seen up close, where you can really appreciate the detail and skill that goes into creating a finished quilt.
