A one-hour illustrated talk and slideshow exploring Linda Miller’s distinctive machine embroidery, the ideas behind her work and the life of a practising textile artist.

About the talk

Linda spent her childhood drawing and sewing. After studying Printed Textiles at Winchester School of Art, she combined her love of drawing and stitch to create machine embroideries, and in 1989 she established her studio practice.

Her work has been successfully exhibited and is held in both public and private collections.

“In Stitches” is a one-hour slideshow and talk covering all aspects of Linda’s work: the joys of being a practising textile artist, gathering ideas, developing new pieces and working towards exhibitions.

Alongside Linda’s stories, visitors will see images of her machine embroideries, whose distinctive naivety, warmth and charm appeal to audiences of all ages.
