Add a touch of natural, hand-made charm to your home or garden with this relaxed and practical willow weaving workshop. In just one hour you’ll learn the basics of working with willow and create a finished piece you can use straight away. Perfect for brightening up a windowsill, patio, greenhouse or garden border.
All abilities are welcome, whether you’ve never tried willow work before or you’ve woven a little in the past. You’ll be guided step-by-step through simple techniques such as shaping, weaving and finishing, with plenty of tips along the way so you feel confident working with the material.
On the day, you can choose what you’d like to make:
a simple woven basket for holding small plants or pots
an upright plant support to help climbing plants and stems grow strong
a hanging willow ball for a decorative touch (great for outdoors or indoors)
If you’d prefer, you can also pick something from any of Sarah’s other workshop options running each day, so you can tailor the session to your interests and the time you have.
You’ll leave with a lovely handmade willow item, new skills you can build on at home, and a real sense of achievement. Willow is forgiving, tactile, and incredibly satisfying to work with.
