North Dorset Quilters Are Back
We’re delighted to announce that the North Dorset Quilters will be exhibiting again at this year’s show. Whether you’re a seasoned stitcher or just quilt-curious, their stand is a must-see—packed with colour, craft, and community spirit.
Founded in 1998, North Dorset Quilters meet monthly in Shaftesbury. While the group focuses on patchwork and quilting, visitors will also spot a variety of other needle-crafts—everyone’s welcome to bring the projects they love. After a post-Covid dip, the group has grown back to around 25 members and continues to thrive.

Recent and current projects
2023 Mystery Quilt: Over five months, members tackled a four-block mystery quilt—one block revealed each month, with the full layout unveiled in month five. Many members took part, and you can see a selection of these brilliant results on display at the show.
2024 Sampler Quilt: This year’s project is a skills-building Sampler Quilt, with each block introducing a different patchwork or appliqué technique. Guided tuition has helped many beginners try something new—and participation is once again fantastic across the group.
Meet them at the show
At the North Dorset Quilters’ exhibit you can expect:
A curated display of mystery quilts and sampler blocks

The group also publishes a members’ newsletter and has already featured the show—so expect plenty of buzz on their stand.
