With over 30 years of experience in the textile fashion industry, Maria’s journey began as a fabric designer during the vibrant 80s and 90s. Her passion for textiles eventually led her to specialize in textile conservation, earning her degree from Lincoln University in 2020. Her work focuses on the preservation of historical fabrics, embroidery, and beadwork, collaborating with the National Trust, museums, and private clients across the UK.
As a member of the Royal School of Needlework, Maria is dedicated to keeping heritage sewing techniques alive. She is passionate about blending traditional craftsmanship with contemporary creativity, making goldwork embroidery accessible and inspiring for modern audiences. Her expertise shines through in her educational programs, sewing kits, and heritage-themed creations, allowing crafters to connect with the rich history of this art form.
